Defaults (macOS)
These are the usual bindings; your build may label them slightly differently in Settings.
| Action | Default shortcut |
|---|---|
| Show Overshow | Command+Option+S |
| Start capture | Command+Option+U |
| Stop capture | Command+Option+X |
| Quick Ask | Option+Space |
| Toggle audio | Configurable (set in Settings) |
Customisation
Shortcuts can be customised from Settings → App (or the shortcuts section your version shows). Pick combinations that do not clash with tools you use daily.
Platform notes
- On macOS, Option+Space is a common overlay trigger; change it if another app already claims that chord.
- Toggle audio is particularly worth aligning with your mute or push-to-talk habits if you record frequently.
If a shortcut does nothing
Check macOS Keyboard system settings for conflicts, Overshow’s Accessibility permission if the app must drive global hotkeys, and whether Overshow is running (menu bar presence).
