Overview
This guide gets you from zero to a first grounded answer in roughly five minutes. Capture stays paused until you finish onboarding, so you stay in control of when recording begins.
1. Download Overshow
Open app.over.show in your browser and download the macOS build for Apple Silicon.
2. Install the app
Open the disk image, drag Overshow into Applications, then eject the volume. Launch Overshow from Applications or Spotlight.
3. Complete the onboarding wizard
The wizard runs automatically on first launch. Sign in, grant the permissions you are comfortable with (each step explains the benefit), optionally try demo mode, set any watched document folders, then finish. Capture stays paused until you finish the wizard.
4. Make your first search
Open search from the app, enter a word or phrase you know appears in recent screen content or audio, and review the results. Adjust filters if your app exposes time or source filters.
5. Try Ask for a grounded answer
Use Ask with a question about something Overshow has captured. Overshow retrieves matching passages and surfaces an answer tied to your own material. If nothing relevant was captured yet, refine your question or wait until more content is indexed.
