Uninstall Overshow

Overshow keeps your capture history on your Mac, encrypted with a key in your macOS Keychain. When you uninstall, you choose whether that history stays for a later reinstall or is erased. Approved records you explicitly published to an organisation repository are separate organisation records and are not removed by uninstalling. They remain until the engagement or organisation is deleted.

Two Choices

• Keep my history is the default. It removes the app, the update service, downloaded models, caches, logs, the login item, your sign-in, the credentials for connectors and AI apps (with one exception for the signed uninstaller, below), and the macOS privacy decisions for Overshow. Your encrypted history, settings, device identity and the key that opens them stay in ~/Library/Application Support/Overshow/, so reinstalling on the same Mac and signing in with the same account opens them again.
• Erase my local data also removes your history, settings, device identity and encryption key from this Mac, and cannot be undone. Files you saved in that folder yourself, such as exports, stay. Choose it when you are passing the Mac on or leaving Overshow for good.

Either choice applies to your macOS user only. Other accounts on the Mac keep their own history.

Uninstalling from Settings also withdraws access for Microsoft 365 and AI apps and deletes their tokens, including the protected Keychain copies, because the running app can still reach them. The signed uninstaller cannot reach the protected Keychain copies of the tokens your AI clients were given. It lists what remains, and those tokens stop working once Overshow is gone. Any history that Settings or the signed uninstaller keeps withdraws that access the next time its account opens it, so AI clients you connected need approving again. To remove the tokens straight away, uninstall from Settings while Overshow still runs.

Feedback is optional and stays off unless you tick it. When ticked, the uninstaller tells your account that Overshow was removed from this Mac and opens a short feedback page.

From Overshow

Open Settings, then App, and choose Uninstall Overshow. Pick a choice and confirm, and Overshow quits and finishes the removal. macOS asks for an administrator password to remove the app from Applications.

The Signed Uninstaller

Download the uninstaller from your account's devices page, open the downloaded archive, then run Uninstall Overshow.app. It offers the same two choices, shows how much space each one frees, and asks for an administrator only for the parts every account on the Mac shares. The app is signed and notarised, and the account page only shows the download once your release track has published it. If the link is not there yet, uninstall from Settings or by hand.

Manual Removal

Uninstall from Settings or with the signed uninstaller where you can. Dragging the app to the Bin removes only the app: the login item, downloaded models, caches, logs, the installer's receipts and any update service registration stay behind. It also leaves the access you gave AI tools or Microsoft 365 in place, and a history you keep would let them back in after a reinstall.

1. If you connected AI tools or Microsoft 365, open Settings in Overshow and remove them first.
2. Quit Overshow from the menu bar.
3. Drag Overshow.app from Applications to the Bin.
4. If your account's devices page offers the signed uninstaller, run it. It needs no app to work from, removes what the drag left behind and lists anything it could not remove. If the page does not offer it yet, run it once it does, because those items stay on this Mac until then.
5. To erase your history as well, choose Erase my local data in the uninstaller, or delete ~/Library/Application Support/Overshow/. Leave it in place if you want a reinstall to open your history again.
6. Clear the privacy grants: open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and remove Overshow wherever it still appears under Screen & System Audio Recording, Accessibility, Microphone, and Automation. The uninstaller lists any it could not reset.

If you already dragged Overshow to the Bin, start at step 4.

After Uninstalling

Your subscription is not cancelled by uninstalling. Manage billing from your account page, and see Troubleshooting if you are removing the app to fix a problem: a reinstall with a fresh support directory resolves most broken states.
